Talention’s basic technology emerged from research in 2010, sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Today, Talention is one of the leading recruitment marketing software solutions on the market.
Everything started in 2010 when the two founders of Talention, Steffen Braun, holding a degree in business administration, and Christian Ternai, a graduate commercial computer scientist, got to know each other at the Faculty for Business Development and Innovation at the University of Wuppertal.
While Steffen Braun was advising personnel service providers in online marketing strategies as a consultant, one thing became clear to him: there is not any solution in the human resources industry that combines the fields of recruiting, personnel marketing and employer branding with sophisticated online marketing and analytics. The way in which people look for jobs today has changed radically in the course of digitalization, and therefore recruiting, too.
Graduate business economist (Dipl. Betriebswirt (FH)) Steffen Braun is the managing director and founder of TFI GmbH. Steffen Braun has many years of experience in online marketing; among others, he supported national and international customers as a consultant with regard to the implementation of online personnel marketing and the e-recruiting strategy.
Graduate commercial computer scientist (Dipl. Wirtschaftsinformatiker (FH)) Christian Ternai is also the managing director and founder of TFI GmbH. Christian Ternai has a lot of experience in the development of enterprise software. Before founding TFI GmbH, his customers included international major banks and telecommunication companies.
After funding in the form of a grant from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (EXIST), the company’s establishment as a consulting firm for recruiting (TFI GmbH) took place in 2011.
At the beginning, the founders consulted over 100 companies regarding issues of personnel marketing, employer branding, analytics, and the e-recruiting strategy. At this point in time, the company’s product was still consulting.
The experience and know-how from several years of consulting projects flowed into the Talention software as a best practice solution. In the following years, Talention received diverse awards such as at the start after being founded, the Wuppertal Business Award (2013), List of the Best Innovation Award IT in the category: BEST OF HUMAN RESOURCES (2015) and Test Winner ″Best Applicant Management Software″: in the category SME and key performance indicators (2017).
At the end of 2016, an article was published in the Handelsblatt on the topic ″Selection by Algorithm,″ in which extracts were reported about the successful consulting project that Talention had implemented with Deloitte.
Today, the Talention team has over 25 employees and moved into a bigger office complex in Wuppertal at the beginning of 2017.
We’re a strong team of 25 creative people who pursue a vision. Each member of the team is an expert in his or her field, whether in development, success, controlling, marketing or sales. Together, we combine our know-how, support each other and celebrate shared successes. Short decision-making paths take Talention forward quickly. Of course, team events are held on a regular basis, too.
We believe the issue of personnel marketing and employer branding will become more and more important, if not even being one of the key factors for companies’ long-term success. This matchmaking, where the right applicant is found for the right job, can be steered today in a much better way with digital processes and analytics than was the case five or even 10 years ago. In our opinion, companies must further develop themselves much more strategically in the areas of employer branding and personnel marketing. It is no longer just the matter of managing applicants, but rather, far more strongly of filling the applicant pipeline, of staying in touch with them and then recruiting the applicants at the right time.
As a specialized personnel service provider, our challenge is to find good professionals and skilled workers. We brought Talention on board as an expert to solve this recruiting problem. For us, it was important to get dynamic and state-of-the-art software that can also respond to changes on the market in the future. Since the implementation of Talention, we’re receiving noticeably more applications and the support is available to us at all times for any questions/requests.
